American Legion groups to gather in Centerville

The annual District 1 Fall Convention of the South Dakota American Legion will be held Oct. 1 in Centerville for Legionnaires from Lincoln, Minnehaha, Turner and Union counties.
The Legion business session will begin at 7 p.m. in the Centerville American Legion Post Home. Social will be from 6-7 p.m. with a light lunch to be served following the meetings.
State Commander Rodney Martens of Black Hawk (member of the Piedmont American Legion Post) will conduct the meeting and will outline his “All for One” program for the 2010 American Legion year. State Commander Martens will be assisted by State Adjutant Dennis Brenden of Watertown and State Membership Chairman Wayne Rohde of Brandon.
State Commander Martens will be introduced by District 1 Commander Richard Ekle of Canton (member of the Hudson American Legion). Centerville American Legion Post Commander Lee Rist will be in charge of local arrangements.
The District 1 Auxiliary will hold its convention meeting at 7 p.m. the same day in the Centerville Senior Citizens Center.
