Brandon Valley MatCats, the local youth wrestling club, qualified 25 wrestlers for the state youth tournament in Brookings last weekend.

Koehn, Marso to play in 3-Class Shootout
The 26th annual 3-Class Shootout all-star basketball games are set for March 30 in Salem.
Two Brandon Valley seniors will play in the 30 Class Shootout, Allison Koehn and Chase Marso.
In girls games, Class AA plays Class A at 2 p.m. with the winner meeting Class B at 3:45. In boys games, itís Class B vs. Class A at 5:15 with the winner facing Class AA at 7.
Splitrock Ladies League
The Splitrock Ladies bowled March 19 with the following results: High team game and series: Style On Main, 862 and 2,497. High individual game: Teresa Kramer, 201. High individual series: Bonnie Kramer, 524.
Barb Caffrey picked up the 5-7 split, Bonnie Kramer picked up the 2-7 split and Marcia Bork picked up the 2-7 split.
Register now CASA half-marathon, 5Krun/walk
The CASA Half-Marathon and 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, July 13, in Spearfish Canyon. Over 400 participated in the walk/ run events in 2012. The race is an annual fundraiser benefiting abused and neglected children in northwestern South Dakota through the Northern Hills Area CASA (NHCASA) child advocacy program.
New to the race is the Heroes 5K walk/run team events. Co-workers, friends and family are encouraged to create a team of four or more members. Teams can dress up to showcase their company to vie for the Team Spirit award. Awards will be given to the team with the most members and the team with the fastest collective time based on their top three runners. For participants who want to do more to support the NHCASA organization, the Superhero award will be given to the team or individual raising the most pledges.
For individual participants, medals are awarded to the top three male and female half marathon winners in eight age categories and top two male and female winners in each age category for the 5K. All half-marathon participants receive a participation medal.
Participants are encouraged to pre-register and may do so online at www.nhcasa.org or print off a registration form to mail with your registration fee.
