Maxine I. Larsen, 81
Funeral services for Maxine I. Larsen, 81, of Sioux Falls, were held Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Burial was in the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, rural Menno.
Mrs. Larsen died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; three children, John (Karla) Larsen and Cheryl (Bob Hunter) Ingalls, both of Hartford, and Kathy Black, Brandon; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Our Savior’s Lutheran Television Ministry or the Bethlehem Cemetery Fund.

Anna M. Schmidt, 87
Mass of Christian Burial for Anna “Ann” M. Schmidt, 87, of Dell Rapids, was held Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Interment was in the St. Mary Cemetery.
Mrs. Schmidt died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at the Dells Area Health Center in Dell Rapids following a brief illness.
Anna Knewel was born Nov. 9, 1925 in Sioux Falls, to Maurice and Grace (Geelan) Knewel. She attended Cathedral grade school and high school and graduated in 1943. After graduation, Ann worked at Northern States Power Company in Sioux Falls. She married James H. Schmidt on May 28, 1949 at St. Joseph Cathedral in Sioux Falls. The couple made their home in Dell Rapids where they raised their family of 12 children. Ann worked in the office of the family chemical business in Dell Rapids. Jim died on July 18, 2010.
Ann was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the St. Joseph Altar Society, the PEO Chapter AD, Dell Rapids, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Dell Rapids Golf Course.
Mrs. Schmidt is survived by eight daughters, Nancy Schmidt of Dell Rapids, Janet (Randy) Pownell of Spokane, Wash., Linda (Dennis) Daugaard of Pierre, Jean Holle of Garretson, Mary Schmidt of Sioux Falls, Margaret Amundson of Sioux Falls, Carol (Dave) Jacobson of Dakota Dunes, and Barb (Darwin) Larson of Fargo, N.D.; four sons, Pete Schmidt of Dell Rapids, Gary (Brittany) Schmidt of Renner, Dan (Cindi) Schmidt of Dell Rapids, and Pat (Angie) Schmidt of Dell Rapids; 24 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many wonderful friends and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Jane Corkery, brothers, Jack and Bob Knewel, an infant grandson, Andrew Schmidt, and a son-in-law, Dave Holle.

Donald Visker, 87
Memorial services for Donald Visker, 87, of Sioux Falls, were held Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home in Sioux Falls.
Mr. Visker died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at Bethany Nursing Home.
Donald H. Visker was born Sept. 16, 1925, to Henry and Tina Visker at Rushmore, Minn. Donald worked various jobs throughout his life, but retired from Nash Finch Co. after 30 years as a truck driver. Donald loved polka music, playing cards and Yahtzee, and going to the casino. In his younger years, he enjoyed traveling, dancing, and attending and coaching many of his daughter’s softball games. Don and his sons enjoyed tinkering on used cars that he bought and sold.
Mr. Visker is survived by his wife of 67 years, Fern of Sioux Falls; his children, Carol (Larry) Leitheiser, David, Eugene (Lori), all of Sioux Falls, Laurie (Chip) Rife, LaPorte City, Iowa, Penny (Mark) Carda, Rapid City, Cindy (Gary) Skyberg, Brandon, and Dan (Veronica); son in-law, Dan Hammer, Sioux Falls; 17 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; sisters, Leona Heikes, and Lorraine (Lawrence) Klooster, all of Luverne, Minn.
In addition to his daughter, Karen, he was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Joe.
