It was a complete sweep for the Lady Lynx club bowling team Friday, as the varsity girls won all of their matches against the Harrisburg Tigers.
Leading the way was senior Emily Steinhouse, who had a pair of 200-plus games. Lauren Blue and Kelsey Nimick both finished with 500-plus series.
While the Lady Lynx had success Friday, the Brandon Valley boys took just one match. Despite coming out on the losing side, Lynx head coach Paul Ward termed the scores the team produced as “great.”
Richard Blue V the led the squad with a 700 series. That was aided by Mike Hillman’s 233 game.
In junior varsity action, first-time bowler junior Thomas Siemonsma had an outstanding day on the lanes. He finished the day with a 558 series, rolling games of 222, 158 and 178.
“Where was he for the last four years? He has the makings to be an outstanding bowler,” Ward said. “At least he’s a junior and will be a great asset for next year’s team.”
Tori Braley had a 200 series as the single-member of the Lady Lynx junior varsity team. Ward said this is Braley’s first year in the sport, and said she is improving rapidly.
The Lynx return to the lanes this Friday when they host Brookings at 4 p.m. at Empire Bowl in Sioux Falls.
“We hope to see some of our fans there,” Ward said.
