Brandon voting precincts expand beyond fire hall

Having outgrown the community fire hall as its lone voting location for county elections, Brandon will adjust its county voting precincts three, five and 15 to conform to the city wards.
The Minnehaha County Commission approved the changes Jan. 4.
County Auditor Bob Litz said with all the voting taking place at the fire hall, voters faced parking problems and long lines. With the changes approved by the commission, voting now will take place in the City Council chambers at City Hall and at the Brandon Municipal Golf Course, in addition to the fire hall.
All the sites have adequate parking and they meet accessibility requirements of the Americans With Disabilities Act, Litz told commissioners.
