PIERRE, SD – The Associated School Boards of South Dakota and School Administrators of South Dakota collaborated with Dr. Mark Baron to do an independent survey focusing on the teacher shortage and adequacy issues.
Through public testimony, the Legislative Interim study on education funding revealed that not only is there a teacher shortage in many areas, but there is also a teacher adequacy problem. Districts have open teaching positions they are struggling to find highly qualified individuals for.
