Peach Festival set for July
May 29. 2014 9:39AM
Six area bands will play at the first South Dakota Peach Festival July 26-27 at Yankton Trail Park.
The free festival, sponsored by The Fruit Club, is two days of live music, activities, vendors and food, including peach pies, jam, cobbler, ice cream and specialty beer.
Sol Fredo, Elisabeth Hunstad, Songs of Eli, Hometown Glow, The Lugnuts and Mogans Heroes will play during the festival. See the full schedule at www.SouthDakotaPeachFestival.com.
The Fruit Club was founded in May last year to bring fresh fruit directly from orchards across the country to local customers once a month. The Fruit Club has grown from selling one box of cherries in June 2013 to having more than 20,000 registered customers in South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois and Minnesota.
Festival attendees are encouraged to reserve their boxes of peaches at www.thefruitclub.net before the event to ensure appropriate quantities and a guaranteed order. A portion of the proceeds from the festivalís peach sales will benefit Special Olympics South Dakotaís Building Unity campaign as part of the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerceís Community Appeals Drive.
