Brandon is governed by a board of six council members elected to four-year terms, two from each of three wards. The mayor is elected to a four-year term from the city at large. The city runs on an approximately $4 million annual budget. The Council meets at Brandon City Hall, 308 Main Ave., at 6 p.m. the first and third Mondays of each month. These are the boundaries of Brandonís three voting wards:

WARD I
The north boundary is Holly Boulevard starting from the west city limit line to the center of the intersection of First Avenue.

The east boundary is the center line starting at the intersection of Holly and First Avenue, south to Cedar Street, west on Cedar Street to Main Avenue, south on Main Avenue to Aspen Boulevard, west on Aspen Boulevard to Nicholas Avenue, south on Nicholas Avenue to Patrician Drive, west on Patrician Drive to Tracy Drive, north on Tracy Drive to Maureen Street, west on Maureen Street to Sioux Boulevard, south on Sioux Boulevard to the southern most point of the City limits.

The west and south boundaries are the City limit lines.

C. WARD II
The east boundary is all the land lying west and north of
the west boundary of Ward III.

The west boundary of Ward II is all the land lying north and east of the east boundary of Ward I.
The south boundary is all the land lying north of Aspen
Boulevard from the intersection of Nicholas Avenue to the intersection of Splitrock Boulevard.

The north boundary is the city limit line.

WARD III
The west boundary is the center line of Splitrock Boulevard starting at the north city limit line, south on Splitrock Boulevard to Aspen Boulevard, and the land lying south of the center lines of Aspen Boulevard from Splitrock Boulevard to Nicholas Avenue, south on Nicholas Avenue to Patrician Drive, west on Patrician Drive to Tracy Drive, north on Tracy Drive to Maureen Street, west on Maureen Street to Sioux
Boulevard, south on Sioux Boulevard to the southern most point of the city limits.

The east, north and south boundaries are the city limit lines.

Planning and Zoning Commission
The Brandon Planning & Zoning Commission has six members from the city at large, appointed to three-year terms by the mayor and approved by the Council. The commission meets the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Brandon City Hall, 305 Main Ave. The commission also meets the third Thursday of each month from April through October. The Commission makes recommendations to the City Council on requests for zoning, conditional use permits and variances.
