Junior varsity boys lose to Brookings
Brandon Valley’s junior varsity boys dropped a 54-41 loss to Brookings on Jan. 26. A week prior, the Lynx defeated the Bobcats by double digits on the hardwood in Brookings.
“This game held true to the fact that you have to prove you can play every night,” said Coach Craig Nelson. “We came out with no energy and Brookings handed it to us.”
Brock Wickett led the charge with 10 points, three rebounds and five assists, while Isaac Hanson accounted for seven points and five rebounds. Sam Rall produced four points and hauled in seven rebounds.
“The positive thing we can take out of this game is that our kids will never lie down and die,” Nelson said. “They kept fighting for every possession even when faced with a large deficit late in the game. Hopefully that will carry over and help us in late game situations in the future.”
The 4-6 junior varsity boys play at Watertown on Feb. 6 and host Sioux Falls Washington on Feb. 9.
