Brandon woman gets fourth hole-in-one

Jan Johnson of Brandon aced the 141-yard No. 2 at Brandon Municipal Golf Course on Aug. 25. Johnson used a 5-wood for her fourth hole-in-one.
Andahl aces No. 15 at Hidden Valley
Trevor Andahl of Brandon aced the No. 15 at Hidden Valley Golf Course in Brandon on Aug. 14. He used a wedge from 105 yards.
Platte team wins 2010 Golf Challenge
The eighth annual Beef Bucks Golf Challenge brought beef supporters and golf enthusiasts to the Brandon Municipal Golf Course Aug. 20 for a friendly competition. The yearly golf tournament is a fundraiser for Beef Bucks, Inc., providing operating funds for the organization and supporting scholarships to agricultural youth.
Taking first in the championship flight was the team, Pharmco Sodbusters of Platte. The team from Glacial Lakes Energy of Watertown took first in the first flight, and Sioux Falls Regional Livestock #2 of Worthing placed on top in the second flight.
Winning the third flight was team Boehringer Ingelheim with reps from Iowa and South Dakota.
The daylong Beef Bucks Golf Challenge also featured a putting contest with Tim Paauw of the Avera McKennan team winning the competition. He collected a $250 Beef Buck/VISA card sponsored by Fenske Cattle Company of Woonsocket.
A benefit auction to concluded the day’s events. The auction featured a signed No. 4 Brett Favre Minnesota Vikings jersey, an authentic Jack Daniels keg, John Deere bikes, pedal tractor and kid's Gator, signed items from the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins, a Five Rivers Feedlot Colorado print and more.
During the course of the evening, the Beef Bucks organization also honored Phil Donahue, long time owner of Rice Brothers Commission Firm in the Sioux Falls Stockyard. Donahue, 93, was recognized as a living legend in the beef industry and a championship golfer.
