INVITATION TO BID
Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for two (2) 2012 or newer school buses will be received by Todd Williams, District Operations Manager, Brandon Valley School District 49-2 at the George A. Gulson Administration Center, 300 South Splitrock Boulevard, Brandon, South Dakota, 57005 until 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on Tuesday, February 14, 2012. The bids will be opened and read aloud. Bids submitted on forms other that the one provided will not be considered. No bidder may withdraw a bid for 30 days following the bid opening without a written request explaining the cause of the withdrawal and without written consent of the Owner after reviewing the cause.
A resident bidder is allowed a preference as against the bid of any bidder from any other state enforcing or having a preference for resident bidders, equal to such preference.
All proposals must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bank draft in the amount of five percent (5%) of the maximum amount of the proposal, drawn on a state or a national bank and payable to the Brandon Valley School District No. 49-2, as a guarantee that the bidder, if awarded a Purchase Order, shall properly execute the Purchase Order. In lieu thereof, a bid bond for ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the proposal may be submitted. Such bond to be issued by a surety authorized to do business in the State of South Dakota and made payable to the Brandon Valley School District No. 49-2.
Bid security in form of certified or cashier's check will be returned to all unsuccessful bidders within 30 days after opening of bids. If no award has been made within 30 days after the date of opening of bids, all bid securities will be returned.
The Board of Education will review the bids received and pass upon them at a regular or special Board meeting to be held no later than thirty (30) days following the bid opening.
The Board of Education of the Brandon Valley School District #49-2, reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to accept proposals it deems to be in its best interest, and to waive any or all informalities in bidding procedures.
By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to materials, products, and supplies found or produced within the State of South Dakota.

MINUTES
PLANNING & ZONING
COMMISSION
The Brandon Planning & Zoning Commission met in regular session at 6:30 p.m. on December 15, 2011 at the Brandon City Council Chambers.
Roll call was taken. Members present were Chairman Chuck Parsons, Commissioners Paul Bosch, Tim Jorgenson, Linda Weber and Brian Heidbrink. Also present were Alderman Roger Brooks, Building Inspector Dave Swier and Mayor Larry Beesley. Absent were Commissioner Bob Serk and City Administrator Bryan Read.
Commissioner Bosch moved Commissioner Weber seconded to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Commissioner Jorgenson moved Commissioner Heidbrink seconded to approve the consent calendar which contained the following item: a plat for Country Club Heights 2nd Addition Lot 10A Block 11 and Lots 20A & 21A Block 10. Motion carried.
Commissioner Heidbrink moved Commissioner Bosch seconded to approve the minutes of the December 1, 2011 regular meeting. Motion carried.
Home Occupation Permit Renewals for 2012 were presented for approval. Chairman Parsons moved Commissioner Weber seconded to approve the renewals applications that have paid their yearly renewal fee. The ones that have not paid will be sent a letter January 2, 2012 stating they are in violation of City Ordinance if they are still operating. Motion carried.
At 6:35p.m, having no further business, and nothing for the Board of Adjustment, Chairman Parsons moved Commissioner Jorgenson seconded to adjourn the Planning & Zoning Commission meeting. Motion carried.
