Six BV wrestlers earn placings at Les Tlustos Invite

The Lynx didn’t crown a champion at the Brookings-hosted Les Tlustos Invitational, but six Brandon Valley wrestlers garnered enough success to earn a placing.
Seventeen teams competed in the daylong event. Brandon Valley collected 78.5 points to finish 13th in the team standings.
Wrestlers who secured a placing in the tournament were Adam Presler (113 pounds, third place), Josh Miller (120, sixth), Grant Dougherty (126, 8th), Mason Bender (145, 3rd), Wyatt Winter (152, 4th), and Josiah McGee (285, 7th).
“Wyatt had a great tournament to finish fourth,” noted Lynx head coach Kraig Presler. “He defeated a highly- ranked wrestler, Phil Schwebach of Dell Rapids.” Winter registered a 3-2 record on the day.
Presler posted five wins and just one loss, while Bender claimed four wins and one loss. McGee won three matches and lost two, and both Miller and Dougherty went 2-3 on the day.
“All in all it was a good day for the Lynx with six place winners in an event that featured seven of the top 10 teams in the state,” Presler concluded.
