Soup supper to benefit fire departments

A soup contest and lunch Feb. 18 in Brandon will benefit Brandon, Garretson, Splitrock and Valley Springs fire and rescue departments.
The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Bethany Meadows, 3008 E. Aspen Blvd. Suggested donation is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 5 to 10 years.
Area chefs will compete for the annual People’s Choice Award, and firefighters will compete for the best soup entry. Desserts made by the Bethany chef will be available. Tours of Bethany’s nursing home, under construction, will be given.
