Lady Lynx senior Allison Koehn wraps up her prep career at Brandon Valley with a post-season honor.
Koehn is one of 10 Eastern South Dakota Conference girl basketball players to be named to the league’s first team.
In her senior season, the 5-foot-9 forward, was a team leader in nearly every aspect of the game. She averaged 13.9 points per game (306 points total), 6.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
“Allie led us in almost every statistical category,” said Lynx head coach Mark Stadem. “Every team we played made it a priority to take Allie away, and yet she was remarkably consistent in what she would give us from night to night. She was an excellent leader for us this year and kept a very positive attitude through all of the adversity we faced.”
Also selected to the 2013 ESD All-Conference first team are Mitchell’s Macy Miller (junior) and senior Kerry Young; Aberdeen Central’s Sami Knecht, Brynn Flakus and Sara Niederbaumer, all seniors; Pierre’s Sydney Palmer, a sophomore, and Kaitlyn Severyn, a junior; and Kelsey Fitzgerald, a senior from Yankton.
ESD honorable mentions include Emily Johnson and Amelia Miller, both seniors from Brookings; Katelyn Allerrdings, a Huron senior; Mitchell senior Megan Farnham; and Yankton junior Morgan Tessier.
