The Dynamic Dance teams have had an amazing season thus far. To date this year, Dynamic has had six teams – both recreational and competitive – competing in local and out-of-town events.
The junior and senior teams attended the national competition in Minneapolis in late February and both squads came home with national titles. Each team won the open division for their contemporary routines. The senior team also placed second in the lyrical and jazz divisions.
Performer of Year dance soloists Alissa Kuhn and Kinsey Strom both finished strong in their respective divisions.
Kuhn placed third in the senior division, which featured 25 dancers, while Strom captured second out of 48 dancers in the teen division.
Two Dynamic dancers also earned their way into the top 10 finalists of the All-American competition. The DX All-American competition recognizes individuals who encompass the whole package. Contestants are required to submit a resume, essay, transcript, letter of recommendation, and participate in an interview process upon arriving.
Kuhn placed third in the AA senior division, and Alyse Dockter finished in the top 10 of the teen division.
This month, all of the Dynamic Dance teams will compete locally, and the senior team is gearing up for a road trip to a Chicago-based competition and dance convention. All of the teams will finish their season in April at a competition held in Sioux City, Iowa.
Dynamic Cheer & Dance studio will hold their end-of-year recital at the Orpheum Theater in Sioux Falls at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 2. The recital is open to the public.
