Three Brandon Valley Lynx have garnered Eastern South Dakota All-Conference honors for the 2012-13 boy’s basketball season.

Senior forward Chase Marso and junior Jacob Adams were both selected to the ESD All-Conference first team, while junior Nic Peterson is an honorable mention pick.

The 6-foot-3 Marso has been a team leader in nearly every facet of the game. He leads the Lynx in scoring this season, averaging 17.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.

“Chase is not just a great shooter, he’s a competitor,” said Lynx head coach Bent Deckert. “He see’s many things on the floor offensively and defensively before they happen. He’s a true leader and student of the game.”

Through 22 games, Adams, also a 6-foot-3 forward, has averaged 12.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.

“Jacob is just a difficult match-up for almost everyone, as he has outstanding hands and has the ability to score inside and out,” Deckert said.

And Peterson, a 5-foot-9 guard, has logged 11.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.

“Nic is amazing. His pull-up game and 3-point range are awesome,” he coach said. “Most teams defended Nic as a shooter only, but he has never been scared to finish at the rim.”

In addition to Marso and Adams, the 2012-13 ESD All-Conference First Team roster includes: Pierre: Zach Hanson and Layne Severyn, seniors; Brookings: Junior Tyler Nagy and senior Braxton Carlson; Huron: junior Justin Decker and senior Adam Zwanziger; Watertown: senior Tanner Heiser; and Mitchell: Seth Cavanaugh, senior.

Honorable mentions include Aberdeen Central: Brady Mohr and Braden LeGrand, seniors; Brookings: Kaleb Vig, senior; Mitchell: Beau Brown, sophomore; Watertown: Landen Mack, senior; and Yankton: senior Michael Rucker
