Police: Brandon Verizon break-in related to others
March 28. 2013 9:58AM
Brandon Police say a break-in at a Verizon Wireless store early Tuesday morning probably is connected to a string of other break-ins at Verizon stores in Watertown and Brookings.
Sgt. Wayne Ellingson of the Brandon Police Department said a person or persons broke into the Verizon store at 101 N. Splitrock Blvd. at some point between 1 and 5 a.m., taking 27 smartphones, valued at $15,000. Entry was gained by breaking out a window valued at $1,500.
Ellingson said similar crimes also were reported Tuesday morning in Watertown and Brookings. None of the stores had video surveillance; however, Ellingson said a store near the Verizon store in Brandon does and might be able to help identify the suspects.
