Status of S.D. children reviewed at April 2 event

Brandon area residents are invited to learn firsthand about the status of South Dakota children at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 2. Hosted by South Dakota Voices for Children, the briefing will be held at the Brandon Library, 305 Splitrock Blvd.
Speakers include Carole Cochran, director of South Dakota KIDS COUNT, The University of South Dakota, Beacom School of Business; and Jennifer Kline, executive director, South Dakota Voices for Children.
The briefing will include the most recent data from the just-released South Dakota KIDS COUNT Child Well-Being Report and an overview of wins/losses for children in the 2013 Legislature. There will also be an opportunity for those who attend to share their views about issues that should be addressed on behalf of the state’s youngest citizens.
Water and coffee will be provided. Reservations are not needed; the briefing is open to all who are interested in improving the lives of South Dakota children.
