Pham receives full scholarship to University of Chicago through QuestBridge

Brandon Valley High School senior Long Pham has been admitted to the University of Chicago in Chicago, Ill., with a full scholarship through QuestBridge, a non-profit education-focused organization.
After learning of the scholarship award, Phams said, “Excitement filled my body as I realized I had become the embodiment of the dreams of my community.”
Pham, who lives in Brandon, is the eldest of three siblings and will be the first in his family to attend college. Although polar opposites, both business and astronomy fascinate Pham, and he hopes to achieve success at an international level after studying at UChicago.
Based in Palo Alto, Calif., QuestBridge connects high-achieving low-income students with opportunities at 35 leading colleges across the country including Brown University, Davidson College, Emory University, MIT, University of Chicago, Stanford University, Yale University. Colorado College and Vanderbilt University. In 2012, QuestBridge helped 383 high school seniors gain admission and full scholarships to top-tier colleges through the National College Match program.
