BVHS 2013 Prom: ‘How Sweet It Is’
Annual event is Saturday evening at Shrine Mosque

“How Sweet It Is” is the theme and subsequent decor that will greet Brandon Valley High School prom-goers as they enter the Shrine Mosque Saturday evening.
The Shrine Mosque will be transformed into a “candy land” sort of atmosphere that will feature cotton candy strands, lollipops, gumballs and other candy goods.
In addition to the décor, Brandon Valley High’s advanced foods class, under the guidance of Naome Poppe – is preparing an assortment of appetizers along with fresh cotton candy and a chocolate fountain with strawberries. Students in Patrick Donelan’s shop classes have also lent a helping hand by constructing various decorations.
As in past years, parents, family members and the curious public can take photos from 8 to 9 p.m.
Because Brandon Valley does not have a traditional grand march, the hour-long picture taking frenzy allows groups of friends, teams and clubs to have their photos taken together.
“It’s a wonderful display of all students who are part of the BV family,” said BVHS prom advisor Carolyn Ebright. Then we let them dance the night away.”
The BV Junior-Senior Parent group is hosting a pancake breakfast at Tailgator’s for all prom-goers from 11:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
