Brandon Community Pool opens May 31

The Brandon Community Pool will open for the 2013 season at 1 p.m. Friday, May 31. The late opening is attributed to the extended school year and uncooperative spring weather.
The Brandon Community Pool offers open swim daily from 1 to 5 p.m. and 6:30 to 9 p.m. Family swim time is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Lap swim is scheduled from 5 to 5:45 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Water aerobics is offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. And the wading pool is open daily from 1 to 5 p.m. and 6:30 to 9 p.m.
The first session of lessons is scheduled from June 3-14; second session is June 17-28; third session is July 8-19; and the final session is July 22-Aug. 2. Matt Thompson is the lessons coordinator.
Season pass prices are: Student single (age 6-18), $30; adult single 19-59), $40; senior citizen (60 & over), $30; family (with kids 18 and younger), $70. Daily fees are $3 for students, $4 for adults, $3 for senior citizens, and free to children under 6 with adult supervision.
