BV girl’s jr. varsity finish 3rd in home invite
The Lady Lynx finished in the middle of the five-team Lynx Invite played April 30 at Hidden Valley Golf Course. O’Gorman won the meet with 300 strokes. Roosevelt and Brandon Valley were second and third respectively, with 347 and 350 strokes. Washington and Lincoln round out the team scores. The Warriors had 358 and Lincoln finished with 365.
Tatum Mork led the Lady Lynx with an 82, tying her for a sixth place finish. Callie Wethor carded an 85, while Haley Sanow and Josie Puetz turned in rounds of 91 and 92, respectively.
Elizabeth Duncan and Paige Timmons finished with 95s. Ashlea Wolfe and Shelby Linn shot 96 and 101.
“I am very pleased with our team’s third place finish in our first meet of the year,” said Lady Lynx JV coach Jeff Lockner.
The young JV team sports just one member that has ever played in a golf tournament prior to the Lynx Invite this year. “With our whole JV team this year being middle school student-athletes, they were nervous to go up against the older Sioux Falls teams. But the character and commitment to compete Tuesday that I saw from these young ladies will take them far in golf and life if they keep growing,” Lockner said.
