Mork places in top 5 at Westward Ho
Tatum Mork placed in the top five junior varsity golfers in competition May 6 at Westward Ho Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
Mork finished with a 41, which was good enough for fifth place.
Also aiding in Brandon Valley’s third place team finish were Callie Wethor with a 45, Josie Puetz with a 47, Paige Timmons with a 53, and Shelby Linn carded a 55.
O’Gorman, who was led by medalist Katie Haverly (shooting a 36), won the team title with 156 strokes. Sioux Falls Washington was second at 171, followed by Brandon Valley at 186. Rounding out the team scores were Roosevelt (191) and Lincoln (201).
Wethor leads JV girls golf at Elmwood
Callie Wethor carded a 52 in junior varsity girl’s golf action May 7 at Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls. Her score was good enough to place her in the top five, filling the No. 4 slot. Wethor, along with Tatum Mork’s 56, and 59s from Josie Puetz and Hannah DeVille made up the second place 226 team score.
Also posting scores for the Lynx were Ashlea Wolfe (61) and Elizabeth Duncan (74).
O’Gorman’s 199 team score won the meet, followed by Brandon Valley (226), Washington (225), Lincoln (232) and Roosevelt (239).
JV softball blanks SF Blades
Sydnie Buchheim and Makenzie Marso powered the Lady Lynx junior varsity softball team to a 5-0 win in seven innings over the Sioux Falls Blades Tuesday at Aspen Park in Brandon.
Buchheim went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, and Marso was a perfect 3-for-3.
Staffing the mound Tuesday were Haley Andrews, Mikael Smith and Savannah Garrow, with Buchheim catching.
Coach Roxie Geerdes said the team played good defense. Katie Erickson, Taylor Thorson, Mady Smith and Madi Mogck turned in solid performances on defense.
