Two films, special concert wrap up America’s Music Series at Siouxland Libraries

Siouxland Libraries’ program series “America’s Music: A Film History of Our Popular Music from Blues to Bluegrass to Broadway” concludes the week of June 23 with the final two films and a special concert at the historic Orpheum Theater.
A film session at the Main Library Sunday, June 23, features blues and gospel music with selections from Martin Scorsese Presents the Blues: Episode 1: Feel Like Going Home, and Say Amen, Somebody. Doors open at 1:15 p.m., with a live performance by Bobby Gripp and Friends before the film. Library meeting rooms will be open for the program, but the rest of the library will remain closed.
On Wednesday, June 26, at 7 p.m., the library will sponsor “America’s Music Live!” at the historic Orpheum Theater, featuring Tom Peterson & Charley Smith and Union Grove Pickers. The local favorites will perform a concert of folk and bluegrass hits.
