VS eliminates Post 15 West in 11-1 tromping

Coming off a disappointing 15-5 loss to Mitchell earlier in the day, Valley Springs Post 131 rebounded with a vengeance, pounding SF Post 15 West 11-1 Wednesday evening at Harmodon Park Field.
The loss put an end to SF Post 15 West’s season, and advanced Valley Springs to the title game against Mitchell Thursday afternoon.
Valley Springs out-hit SF Post 15 West 14-4, and were sparked by a five-run inning in the sixth. Jacob Bruget got things started on an RBI single, followed by an RBI single by Jacob Mulde, a groundout by Dylan Tibke, an error, and an RBI single by Nic Petersen.
Bruget helped Post 131 take the lead for good in the sixth inning. He racked up two RBIs on two hits.
Jacob Adams registered three RBIs on two hits for Valley Springs. He singled in the third inning and homered in the eighth.
Bruget recorded the win for Valley Springs. He allowed one run over eight innings, struck out five, walked three and surrendered four hits.
Post 131 jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third on a Cole VanderBeek single, which was followed up by a single from Peterson to score VanderBeek.
Valley Springs piled on four more runs in the bottom of the eighth. Adams’ three-run blast got things going, bringing home Peterson and Tibke. Bruget singled next, plating Tommy Gardner.
