Player conditioning will be worked on in the days to come following Brandon Valley’s 5-0 loss to Rapid City Central Friday in girl’s club soccer action at the McHardy Park Soccer Complex in Brandon.
Head coach Marlon Mollett said he’ll substitute players more often and change up the formation to combat that in future games.
The Lady Lynx contained their West River guests to just one goal in the first half, but Central broke loose for four more goals in the second half.
Mollett said he team didn’t get as many shots on goal as hoped, but he did witness aggressive play from the team on that end of the field.
“We need to improve on shooting and moving off the ball,” he said. “We’ll continue working hard it to get better; that’s all we can do.”
Brandon Valley travels to Yankton Saturday and next Monday will host O’Gorman. On Aug. 27, West Central pays a visit to the McHardy Park Soccer Complex. All three games are set for 8 p.m. start times.
Prior to the start of Monday’s varsity game, the Brandon Area Soccer Association in conjunction with the City of Brandon, has planned a special ceremony in recognition of the lights that were installed over the summer.
