O’G defeats BV by five strokes
O’Gorman’s junior varsity boys defeated Brandon Valley by five strokes Sept. 12 at Hidden Valley Golf Course, 267-272. Brandon Valley’s auxiliary team posted a score of 324.
Brad Lawrence and Nathan Mutschelknaus led the team with scores of 63 and 66, respectively. Brody Oliver chipped in a 70, while Mitchell Gusso and Jackson Faber both carded 73s. Payton Braun finished with a 75.
Also posting scores for the Lynx were Dawson Schaap (76) and Lucas Schobert (78).
Registrations open for 7th annual Brandon Area Breast Cancer Walk & Run
Registration are now being accepted for the 7th annual Brandon Area Breast Cancer Walk and Run, which is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12. The registration table opens at 8:30 a.m. at Brandon Valley High School with the walk/run beginning at 9:30 a.m. Cost is $20, which includes a T-shirt and lunch buffet from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tailgator’s following the event.
Proceeds from the Breast Cancer Walk/Run will provide free mammograms to Brandon area women who cannot afford them.

JV boys place in middle of pack
Brandon Valley’s junior varsity boy’s golf team placed in the middle of the five-team city league Sept. 19 at Willow Run. Lincoln won the meet with a team score of 162, followed by O’Gorman (169) and Brandon Valley (185). Washington (192) and Roosevelt (209) round out the team scores.
Nathan Mutschelknaus and Brad Lawrence led the squad with 43s. Austin Erickson carded a 45, while Payton Braun and Dawson Schaap finished with 54 and 55, respectively.
Splitrock Ladies League results
The Splitrock Ladies bowled Tuesday, Sept. 24 with the following results:
High team game and series: Steve's Electric, 851 and 2,488; high individual game and series: Marcia Bork, 156 and 449.
Vickie Wielenga picked up the 2-7 split, Nicole Drake picked up the 5-6 split; Darlene Hofer picked up the 3-10 split, and Kathie Franz picked up the 4-5-7 and 5-6 splits.
Gusso leads JV golfers at Westward Ho
Mitchell Gusso carded a 34 to lead the Lynx junior varsity boy’s golf team Sept. 25 in city league play at Westward Ho. Teammate Nathan Mutschelknaus came in with a 35, followed by Austin Erickson’s 36 and Brad Lawrence’s 37. Lucas Schobert and Brody Olivier both posted 42s.
As a team, the Lynx finished third in the five-team competition. O’Gorman’s 129 won the team honors. Lincoln and Brandon Valley were second and third respectively, 131 and 142, followed by Washington (146) and Roosevelt (157).
