Register teams now for BV Hardwood Challenge
Registrations are now being taken for the 6th Annual Brandon Valley Hardwood Challenge Basketball Tournament, which will be played Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22 and 23 in Brandon.
Boys and girls teams from 3rd through 8th grade are invited to play in the tournament, which will be held in gyms at Brandon Valley High and Middle schools and Robert Bennis and Fred Assam elementary schools.
Last year, more than 90 teams took part in the two-day tournament.
This year, the tournament will benefit the senior activities of the classes of 2017 and 2018 (the current eighth and ninth grade classes). Funds raised from the tournament, which will be set aside in CD’s, help to reduce money that parents and/or students will pay for after-prom and graduation activities.
The Hardwood Challenge committee is in need of volunteers to man the gate, cleanup, work concessions, run the clock, keep score and referee. The Committee also wants parents to know that their students don’t have to be involved with sports to benefit from the success of this tour-
