The Brandon Expo on Saturday promises 36 vendors – up from last year – as well as entertainment, games, food and prizes for all ages. The event will be held in the Brandon Valley High School commons and auxiliary gym.

The fifth annual Expo will showcase goods and services Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce member businesses have to offer, just in time for the holiday gift-giving season, Chamber Executive Director Kim Cerwick said.

Many towns have their trade fairs after Christmas, she said, but Brandon has had success holding its Expo in November.

Last year, an record 1,000 people attended the Expo, and Cerwick said the Chamber anticipates a larger number this year for the free event.

“Adding the children’s activities really drives traffic,” she said. Last year was the first year for children’s games such as inflatables, and they will be back this year, along with clowns, balloon animals, cotton candy, a coloring contest and a magician. Ace Hardware will offer a building project for visitors, and Allison’s Dance Academy students will perform.

Cerwick said the Expo will be the last chance to sign up for a $50 Brandon Bucks gift card. Residents already have received a Chamber card in the mail with a registration form on it. The drawing will be held soon after the Expo is over.

Brandon Bucks will be for sale at the Expo, and all vendors are welcome to sell their goods and services. Pizza Ranch will be there, Cerwick said, as well as Covenant Roasters with their coffee.

Many of the booths will hold drawings, such as the Alliance Communications drawing for an iPad mini. The telephone cooperative’s booth will have information about neighbors stealing your Internet, new digital cable TV features and whole home DVR.
“It’s geared toward Brandon residents coming to see what their town has to offer,” Cerwick said.
