Sioux Falls author at Brandon Library Tuesday
November 14. 2013 9:50AM
Sioux Falls author, columnist and ventriloquist, Kevin T. Boekhoff will be speaking and appearing for book signing events this fall promoting his new book "Just Me: Humorous, Helpful & Odd."
He will be at the Brandon Community Library. 305 S. Splitrock Blvd., at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19.
If people liked this humorous take on living life with Parkinson's disease in "I Forgot That I Remembered," they will enjoy his new book "Just Me: Humorous, Helpful & Odd." His sidekick, Danny B. Wood will be accompanying him, as well.
"Just Me: Humorous, Helpful & Odd," is a collection of amusing stories, essays, bloggings, and thoughts from Boekhoff's life. Many magazines, e-zines, and newsletters have published his stories. His humor and style of writing sets him apart from the norm. Some publications have honored him with awards, as well.
Boekhoff has the ability to take common everyday events and find the humor in them - things that most of us can relate to, which is why they are so popular. Many authors seem to try too hard, but Boekhoff has a sense of what is funny. Readers can tell he is having fun telling the story yet knows when to stop and not take things too far. Boekhoff's pastoral side comes out in the last chapter and has become a signature part of his books. This actually completes the concept of being humorous, sometimes odd, but certainly helpful.
