Council to hear proposal for additional speed boards on Splitrock Boulevard
November 18. 2013 8:51AM
With a $60,000 surplus in the police budget, Chief Dave Kull is asking the Brandon City Council to consider spending $8,585 for two speed board signs that would be posted on the north and south ends of Splitrock Boulevard.
Kull said since the speed board went up on West Holly Boulevard, compliance with the 45 mpf speed zone had increased dramatically.
Kull would like to place one sign just north of Risen Savior Catholic Churh, where the highway transitions from 45 mph to 30 mph, and where Fifth Avenue intersects with Splitrock Boulevard.
Also on tonight's agenda is a report from golf pro Zane Swenson, discussion of soccer field rental fees, discussion of signage for a pedestrian easement on Switch Grass Trail.
The meeting, which is open to the public, begins at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 308 Main Ave.
