Congratulations, to BVSD’s retiring staff on a job well done

The 20th annual Staff Recognition Banquet will be held on May 6 and is one way the school district shows its appreciation to staff. At the banquet employees are recognized for years of service and we also announce the Teacher of the Year, which is sponsored by The First National Bank of Sioux Falls-Brandon Branch. Another important function of the banquet is to give special recognition to those wonderful employees who will be retiring this year.
This year the list of soon-to-be retirees who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to the district and its students is quite short. These people, whether they were in the classroom or part of the support staff have been important to the long history of success enjoyed in Brandon Valley. While we will miss them, we know that they have a well-earned retirement life beckoning that is hard to resist. The district wishes them the very best as they move into the next phase of their lives.
Gail Bauer is a special education educational assistant at Valley Springs Elementary and has served the students at Brandon Valley for 23 years.
Pam Eitreim teaches fourth grade at Brandon Elementary and has been teaching in the district for 33 years.
Dean Pierson teaches high school math, and on occasion some science, and has been a teacher and coach here for 29 years.
Jim Wenzlaff has been a groundskeeper working to keep our vast outdoor space looking good for 26 years.
This group represents over 100 years of service! We congratulate them all and thank them for all they have done to consistently make Brandon Valley such a great place to live and to learn. When you have a chance, please thank these people personally.
